How it works?
As a company that works primarily with online products, we feel responsible for the environment and the carbon footprint of our activities. That’s why we created a free Google Chrome tool called Carbon Offset Extension with the long-term objective to help reduce the carbon footprint of our users. More specifically – the carbon dioxide emitted by internet browsing.
Our team donates money to one of our partner organizations that specialize in tree planting on behalf of our users. We are going to sponsor the planting of three trees per user per year. This calculation is based on our daily active users. For example, if we have 1,000 daily active users during the course of the year, our team sponsors the planting of exactly 3,000 trees. Our inspiration and motivation
Millions of people around the world are taking action in 2022. Some are joining international organizations and communities like #teamtrees – donating money for planting trees across the globe helps fight deforestation.
Fixing climate change needs to happen gradually and with the joint efforts of millions of people in order to produce a positive and long-lasting change.
Another way to contribute to the cause is to go green! - Our extension changes and takes control of your search engine setting, which is a mandatory requirement as it allows us to monetize and plant trees on behalf of our users.
Disclaimer
When it comes to carbon offset, there is various research and numbers flying around the internet. Since there is not a single most trusted source of information on the relation between carbon dioxide emissions and the exact number of trees which need to be planted, our team provided an estimate for our project after a thorough research.
And because the numbers are not exact and a miscalculation is always a possibility, we increase the number of trees that need to be planted per user per year. Our long-term strategy is to raise the number of planted trees if new data comes out in time. We are not liable and obliged to compensate for any past periods.
